Barrel-Aged Saffron

Saffron was a beer that continued something new while simultaneously building on a set foundation. It started in the US, where we brewed two stouts, Fudge and Coffee. We thought we were done there, but upon tasting them and thinking about them, we realized we had something remarkable on our hands, something we could play around with. So, the Grand series was born. 

Grand was a series of stouts, a canvas we colored as we went along. After the distinct tastes of Fudge, Coffee, Choco Chip, and Cake, we wanted to emulate the taste of a Lussebulle. And so we did.

Since discontinuing Grand for even more exploratory, explosive, and expressive imperial stouts, Saffron has always been a fan favorite and our most requested Christmas beer. This time, it comes back with a twist. A bourbon twist. Having been resting in barrels for as long as Santa takes to get going again. Ho ho ho!
