Before everything stopped, there were beer festivals. (Oh, how we long for beer festivals.) One that we, in particular, remember is Wakefest in Miami, 2019. The sun was shining, the beer was flowing, and everyone was there! One evening, Paul Jones of Cloudwater invited us out for drinks. He’d heard of a place in Miami Beach that served the best Piña Colada. And, when we say the best, we mean the best. We went, we drank, we got blown away. It was the best! Thinking about all our trips, we could never get that drink out of our heads. How could we drink it again? What was in it? Why not make it into a beer? Why not indeed. Cocktail was born, and so was the idea of keeping the beer in barrels. Rum barrels from Fiji give the beer a sweet orange tone. Juicy!
