Here in Sweden, on the third Wednesday of July, every year, Ölets Dag, or Beers Day occur. For this day breweries hold open houses, give tours and sell beer and other stuff. Now, since we have a liquor monopoly here in Sweden we can’t sell strong beer — that is beer that is above 3,5% ABV — to end customer from the brewery. We can, however, sell beer below 3,6% ABV. That beer we call Folköl or Peoples Beer. So, for Beer Day we do something special. The whole team goes out into the wild to pick oh so many elderflowers for this special batch. Packing our clean sour with as many flowers as we can. And, it really comes through. Here’s to beer!
