Old Oaked Abbot
Oaked Quadrupel
Label text:
This beer is so complex we don’t know where to start. Abbot ale, Quad, Belgian imperial brown ale. Call it what you like. Rested on Oak and some raisins to give that extra depth to an already exuberant palate of sweet, nut and earthiness. Take a vow!
Story text:
A blend, a cuvée if you will. This beer is our Belgian triple Father Yod blended with our imperial brown ale Raisin’ Hell, and then rested on oak chips for a long, long time. It’s the most red wine-like beer we’ve ever made. Lots of tannins and vanilla from the oak chips, a grape character from the raisins in Raisin’ Hell and then the slight, pleasant heat from the alcohol. We only did five kegs of this and no one knows why. It’s a firm favorite among almost all who work here.
