Barrel Aged Oaked Imperial Stout
Oak barrel aging refines any liquid going through the process, bringing forward and adding complexity and balance. This beer is an ode to oak. Slight additions of coconut, cocoa, vanilla, licorice and coffee add to the profile of oak from both barrel and toasted oak chips. Quercus
So, what do you do when you want to bring out that real woody taste in a beer? Well, being Dugges, you dive right into it, taking it even further. Letting the beer age in Bourbon barrels with toasted oak chips seemed like the most natural next step, as we wanted to highlight and bring forward those real oak tones in the best way possible. Because, we wanted to see what a real oaky imperial stout would be like. Letting the oak from the barrels and the toasted oak chips come together created a perfect combination and, turns out, we liked it! Deep, deep flavors of oak from two different elements helped shape this beer into what it became, together with its sweet and savory flavors from its other ingredients.
