Ronny’s Crush

We did a beer we called Double Crush. An imperial IPA. When we released it, Ronny from BeerNews.se fell head over heals in love with it and we thought that was that. But, then Ronny came to us asking if we would make a beer for BeerNews first birthday party. Saying yes and creating a beer with Double Crush in the back of our heads was a given. Now, Double Crush was not a bad beer. On the contrary, it’s one of our most liked IPA’s ever! But, there’s this constant strive to always be better. So, we took Double Crush and then tried to pinpoint what could improve it. This is what we came up with: We lowered the ABV of the beer, making it 7% instead of 8%. We changed the hop schedule a bit and exchanged some hop pellets for Cryo Hops to give the beer a more bite. And, we upped the real attenuation, resulting in a beer a bit less sweet and a bit more dry. All technicalities really. Towards perfection.
