Cola drinks have been around since the 19th. Century. Beers sour with Lactobacillus and flavored with spices a lot longer than that. The fact that no one, to our knowledge, had put these two together baffled us when we a few years ago started toying with the idea. Then we figured that making it work might be the issue. We started blending spices, looking up old botanical cola recipes, extracting flavors, doing some more blending, adding spices, taking spices away and playing with fruit combos. We could have given up. But, we didn’t. And, here we are. The perfect combo of everyone’s favorite two drinks, with a little popsicle vibe. Now, we wanted to combine these favorites with another popular liquid creating a replica of the oh so popular rum and cola. We had the beer age in rum barrels to reach that ”cola-candy” states, with some fresh warm tones from the rum.
