Wilder Shade of Pale
Sour Brett Ale
Label text:
We have some barrels of brett beer stashed away here at the brewery. And, when I write we I mean Calle, our resident microbiologist. Barrels that we, from time to time, go and take tasters from. To see how the beer has aged. To check if its any good. (It always is.) Then, every once in a while, we use this beer to create blends or non-blends – this is a non-blend – of lovely puckering brett beer. Always exciting, and something we hope to do more of in the future.
Story text:
The label text above really says it all. Well, almost says it all. It does not say why we decided to do this exact beer. In late 2017 we found out that we had been invited to MBCC - Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen. For us, this was a big deal. And, when getting the invite, we we’re asked to bring our ’craziest shit’. So, what could we bring that (for us) was crazy shit? A version of our Brettanomyces stuff was the first thing that came to mind. Originally ment as a one or two keg thing, upon tasting, we decided to keg as much as we could. First time anyone tastes it will be at MBCC 2018. Our craziest shit has been brung!
