A crispy clean pilsner. Not too big, not too small. Just a perfect, straightforward, no fuss, simple yet complex pilsner. Crispy clean with a touch of hops. Hof!
Not too long ago, we talked to public hall Zamenhof in Gothenburg about making a beer for them. Zamehof is a place for everybody: A cocktail lounge, arcade hall, beer bar, BBQ place, and ping-pong extravaganza. You get it. They wanted a house beer. A beer for people who like beer. An easy drinker with an upscale feel. A one-up on any other house beer being poured by any other place.
We got thinking. We got creating. We got brewing.
As we've said before: There's something about Lagers. It's by far the most-sold beer style in the world. Everyone has an opinion about them. And they, indeed, are a beer for people who like beer. So for Zamenhof's house beer, a lager was a must.
We fiddled around here and there. Adding to the malt bill, changing the water profile, and looking over the fermentation. We were almost there, so close. But something was missing. In a Heureka moment of clarity and as a stroke of genius, we added a dash of Amarillo hops. Perfection! If you like beer, then this beer is for you. Cheers!
